Lunchtime concerts

ULMS holds lunchtime concerts throughout the academic year (excluding quiet period in summer term). The concerts are very informal and often provide a nice warm place in which to eat your lunch, as well as an opportunity to give support to performers as they share their passion and display their talent.

Everyone is welcome to perform in a lunchtime concert. Unfortunately we are unable to pay artists, but it is a really good opportunity for people to practice performing in public, and give others the opportunity to appreciate their music. All genres of music are very welcome, and the lunchtime concert series attempts to promote musical diversity, obviously this is only possible through people volunteering to perform in a concert. Previous concerts have spanned genres including Chinese flute music, modern orchestral works, electronic music, and 'Classical' chamber music.

Concerts take place in the Jack Hylton Room (across from County bar/ coffee shop), on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 1:10pm, usually lasting for 40-45 minutes, and entry is free. Performers generally include students practising for end-of-year recitals, small ensembles, and local musicians from outside the University. However, as stated above, everyone is welcome to perform in a lunchtime concert.

For forthcoming lunchtime concerts please see theĀ calendar.

If you would like to perform in a lunchtime concert, or have any questions about lunchtime concerts, please do not hesitate to contact theĀ Lunchtime concert officer.
