Ensembles
ULMS is responsible for the running of six main ensembles: Symphony Orchestra, Wind Band, Big Band, Choir, Swing Group and Brass Band which rehearse once a week during term time. Any ULMS member can join non-auditioning ensembles and audition for auditioning ensembles There is a mailing list for each ensemble - if you think you're not on one and should be contact the Secretary.
If you're a Lancaster University student you can listen to the music your ensemble is playing through the Naxos Music Library.
Each of our main ensembles performs at least one concert a term, usually in the Great Hall on Sunday evenings following rehearsals over the weekend. In addition, Choir have given a charity concert at Lancaster Priory, and Big Band has gigged at Grizedale JCR, Roses Weekend and Bowland Extrav. Members are also encouraged to form their own small groups which can perform in the lunchtime concert series. The rehearsals and concerts are all shown on our calendar.
